Amidst Thoughts

By Abdalla | October 22, 2008

This weeks been pretty hectic so thank god its Thursday tomorrow (weekend here is Friday and Saturday). I had the dreaded Medical Physiology exam which was so easy I finished in less than 6 minutes which surprised even the damn teacher (thank god for A-level Biology haha).

Life is going well you know. I mean finally I feel like I am studying something which I enjoy. Do not take me wrong, I do not enjoy reading or even learning about stupid stuff like Krebs cycle and how Mitochondria is important for Oxidative Phosporylation. I had enough of that in A2 Biology and I don’t need it explained further to a higher level. NO THANKS! These things bore the hell out of me….like I go to sleep in those long hours on end lectures. BOOORINGG!

Life in Egypt

Dude. Like I lived all my life in highly modern western countries such as Norway (highly sophisticated) and UK (not so sophisticated but modern) meaning I am used to the latest technology and what I like to call the WESTERN “mentality/way of thinking”. Coming to Egypt, a mere 4 hours from London, has made me realise that life can be so damn different. This place is like a desert with a few building on top of it. BELIEVE ME when I say Cairo is the only City where you can literally take one step and you would be amongst the latest in technology in terms of modern buildings and cars….another step and your right back to the times of the prophet (peace be upon him) with the old style markets and aged structures.

I am now living in an Arab country where the culture is diverse but when you mix Africa and Arabs you get a whole new equation! Imagine the money hungry people of Africa mixed with the shrewd business mind of the typical Arab….Damn.

Money is a big thing here. Like £1 is 10 Egyptian Pounds (LE/EGP) roughly but unlike the UK, 1 LE/EGP (Egyptian pound, about 10 pence UK) is actually WORTH something here. 2-3 LE/EGP will actually get you a taxi to anywhere within an area – this would cost about £6 back home in Leicester, UK. London’s even more expensive..

Food is generally cheap and yes boys and gals, McDonalds, and other famous brands are actually 100% HALAL. Guess what I have for dinner everyday hehe..

How to best define Egypt…

Don’t get me wrong. I love the place. Egypt, especially Cairo, is an amazing place full of life and movement, and it is that way almost 24 hours every day, with the noisy honking of horns, children playing in the streets and merchants selling their wears and services. Here, the Egyptians are most at home in this powerful, modern and ancient city of Cairo.

Cairo, Egypt, the Triumphant City, known officially as al-Qāhirah is one of the world’s largest urban areas and offers many sites to see. It is the administrative capital of Egypt and, close by, is almost every Egypt Pyramid, such as the Great Pyramids of Giza on the very edge of the city. But there are also ancient temples, tombs, Christian churches, magnificent Muslim monuments, and of course, the Egyptian Antiquities Museum all either within or nearby the city.

Last Word

I know, I am rambling but why are you reading this anyway. If you want to check out Cairo then come here yourself. I have the pleasure to look forward to the beautiful river Nile – wish I had that special someone to share the occasion with – at amazing sunsets. In fact, find a picture below which was taken on the beautiful sunset this past summer:

Arab Women…damn..

When you are in Egypt I think you will find the women here amazingly amazing! They do not have to necessarily be Egyptian. For example, some of the kuwaiti chicks I know (in my class) are so hot I swear some of you would faint. Obviously the xaasid does not fall for any chick based on beauty alone…besides you can’t beat miss xaasid back at home in the UK ;)

Its fun though when they try hitting on you simply because your a foreigner. Not just any type foreigner but one that speaks English (fluently) and is Muslim. You see, these hotties are all about one thing, find yourself a man and get married. Obviously who would not want to be with me? I’m fuckin’ fabulous baby and you know it! So.. if your reading this and want to get hooked, get your butt here and i’ll sort you out..at a fee of course haha.

Anyway, I got 9am start tomorrow so I think I’ll hit the sack. Do not forget I have updated the contact page with all my details so if you want to get in touch check it out by clicking here. Call, TXT/SMS, Email whatever, I am available 24/7

Next time I will introduce you to my newly found friends from all over the arab world. Can you believe I know like 6 people from Palestine? Next time inshaAllah.

My beds looking nice and warm….and it literally is at 23 degrees Celsius!

Keep it Reallllll folks
